In traditional &#8220;TD&#8221; the dog follows a tracklayer&#8217;s scent over a lengthy distance in large fields, turning multiple corners.\u00a0 In urban (TDU), the dog will run a track in a heavily used area such as a school or park, with all of the distractions that go along with it.\u00a0 In both cases the goal is to find articles of clothing left by the handler along the way.\u00a0 This is not the same type of tracking training used for Search and Rescue.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">The club offers a single tracking class that covers both of these elements:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tracking (TD)<\/strong> &#8211; Traditional tracking in a field, following the scent of someone who laid out a course.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Urban Tracking (TDU)<\/strong> &#8211; Tracking in an urban area where the dog must be able to track through areas of many scents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"JEgxmfWf44\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.akc.org\/sports\/tracking\/\">Tracking<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Tracking&#8221; &#8212; American Kennel Club\" src=\"https:\/\/www.akc.org\/sports\/tracking\/embed\/#?secret=W2waXTskE6#?secret=JEgxmfWf44\" data-secret=\"JEgxmfWf44\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Next Class<\/h3>\n<p>Spring 2026 tracking class will start with a handler&#8217;s meeting prior to start of class. (location and time will be sent to enrollees).\u00a0 This meeting will cover the equipment needed, class expectations, and location of first class.<\/p>\n<h3>Registration<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>PRE-REGISTRATION is required.<\/li>\n<li>Classes are limited to space available.\u00a0 Register early to secure your spot.<\/li>\n<li>Registration is accepted on a first come, first served basis.<\/li>\n<li>Registration should be completed online using the online store.\u00a0 Your slot is reserved when you have finished checking out.\u00a0 You will receive a confirmation email when your order is complete.<\/li>\n<li>If the class shows as &#8220;Out of Stock&#8221;, the class is full<\/li>\n<li>If the class is full you may add your name to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usrvdtc.org\/site\/class-waiting-list\/\">waiting list<\/a> in the case that a slot opens up.<\/li>\n<li>Online payment options for PayPal are available.\u00a0 If you plan to use a credit card, select the PayPal option.<\/li>\n<li>Once the online registration is complete, you should receive a confirmation email, including your order number. Save this confirmation for future reference. Should you not receive this confirmation email, please contact the training director listed below.<\/li>\n<li>Class registration will be closed no later than one week prior to the class start date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Classes<\/h3>\n<p>The available classes are listed below.\u00a0 To register, please select the class in which you are interested.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"woocommerce columns-4 \"><\/div>\n<h3>Cost<\/h3>\n<p>Costs are for the entire duration of the class, not a weekly rate.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Standard Rate: $100.00<\/li>\n<li>Senior Discount (55 and older): $80.00<\/li>\n<li>Second Dog in Same Family for a single class: $85.00<\/li>\n<li>Inactive Club Members: $50.00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Cancellation Fees<\/h3>\n<div>Attention: If you cancel your registration, there will be a cancellation\/processing fee which will be deducted from the refund.
